I gotta say I was quite impressed by this ad at least. Not necessarily the ‘river fording’ but the climb looks quite good.
This is the kind of ad I want to see.

I thought the same thing, that was pretty impressive.

Kudos for such a refreshing change in automotive commercials.

Jeep knocked it out in that one.

This and the tide ads were just perfect fucking advertisement. They were just like here is our product doing things better than anyone else, period. No need for bullshit or “creative” marketing. Just relying on the facts and telling everyone else to go pound sand.
Side note, my favorite part of superbowl commercials is not having to watch any drug/medication ads!! That is what infuriates me about watching normal television. That shit is illegal in most other countries so its quite annoying.

Damn. I never had much want for the JK, but I’m having a fair amount of want for the JL.

The tide ads were probably the only ones I thought were funny. They did a great job.
I kinda hope more car companies take a look at this ad ad replicate it. I’m going to be driving it. Show that and focus on that alone.

The problem is they are often trying to sell an “image” rather than a product based on just its merits. And seeing as most people do just care about that image part, it ends up being a bit more important. It always makes me chuckle seeing crossovers in ads doing offroading things. I am pretty sure my Miata has done more offroading than a Honda CRV will ever do.

It’s a good Jeep

If ever Chevy decides to advertise the Corvette ZR1, they should just show the onboard lap record at VIR.

Didn’t like it.
First, when trying to present yourself as genuinely tough, it’s pretty lame to use a fake pond and waterfall.
Second, I found it every bit as pretentious as the “manifesto” commercials it was trying to criticize.

Yes. This is good old school car advertising

I thought it was great too, even though I think the waterfall was man made.

I would have been even better if there was no voice over and just the Jeep going by, but then at the end just the guy saying “Jeep Wrangler”.

Aaaaand then there’s this.

I was so pissed after seeing that one.
They knock it out of the park with the river fording one and then pull that shit.

It was really cool, but the disclaimers kind of ruined it for me.

One for the purists, one for the other 95% of the target market

Jeff Zwart did this ad, which is why is was so great.
